Study Tour in Bangkok

Posted in Unspecified

6 September 2008

Ohisashiburi desu. Long time no see.

Today, we had a study tour in Bangkok with Ban Sensei, Kiyooka san, and 9 students from KUT. First, we went to the Grand Palace, including Wat Pra Keo and Chakri Maha Prasat Building.

Members of the trip: Ban Sensei, Kiyooka san and 9 students from KUT.

We arrived at the Grand Palace around 10 am. The sky was so clear and it was quite … hot for me, the writer (or it was so hot for foreigners?). Anyway, the advantage of clear sky is to take some beautiful outdoor pictures.

How the stone ball was put in side the mouth?

We spent around 1 hour inside the Grand Place. Finally, we visited Chakri Maha Prasat Building and take some pictures with security guards.

Ninkimono! The security guard at the left stair of Chakri Maha Prasat Build was more popular than the other one.

We took a picture with the right stair security guard.

After that, we were hungry and went to S&P Restaurant and Bakery nearby Chao Praya River to had delicious Thai food: Thai rice, tom yum, papaya salad and deep-fried fish. Some of the member challenged very hot papaya salad; actually it was so hot for me too. After that, we had desserts, such as sakoo sweet, taro sweet, banana sweet, but no one challenged DURIAN sweet.

S&P Bakery and Restaurant: The food at was delicious and the scenery was beautiful.

In the afternoon, we went to Wat Pho or the Temple of Reclining Buddha. Some of the members dropped a coin along 108-bowl line to gain merit, luck and long life.

Next, we crossed Chao Praya River to Wat Arun for climbing up its central prang, more than 60 meter height with steep steps. Otsukaresama.

We left from Wat Arun around 3 pm at went to shopping at MBK. After that, we had dinner at delicious MK suki with Prof. Somnuk. All students were interviewed by Prof. Somnuk and some of the students were nervous (^_^) and it was the last program of the day.

We hope the member enjoy the trip and see you again in Bangkok or Kochi next time.
